“Between Attack and Resilience: The Ongoing Institutionalization of Independent Digital Journalism in Brazil.” Is a new journal article I and Fernando Oliveira Paulino published online first in Digital Journalism. In the article, we explain how Independent Digital Journalism in Brazil has managed to survive in times of acute and multilayered crisis. The article conceptualizes independent journalism through the perspective of “positive dependence” as necessary dimension in the ongoing institutionalization of professionalized forms of Independent Digital Journalism in Brazil. The analysis of six emblematic case studies helps understand the ways in which the ongoing institutionalization of Independent Digital Journalism in Brazil contributes to a more diverse news ecosystem in the country.
