The National Post invited me to write this op-ed about Facebook’s news ban in Australia and its context. In this opinion piece, I argue based on the knowledge we have so far about Big Tech companies’ bargaining behavior that what happened in Australia is likely to happen again in other countries if policy-makers and industry stakeholders let companies like Facebook and Google get away with their negotiating tactics.
